Description
Asparaginase is a bacterial enzyme that can specifically degrade L-Asparagine into L-Aspartic acid and Ammonia. Its active form is a homologous tetramer; each subunit is composed of 326 amino acids
Application
First line treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Also used in treatment of patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia with hypersensitivity to native forms of L-Asparaginase.
